WhistleStop Festival 2015 Schedule, Music, BBQ Competition

May 1, 2015 - Friday - 4:00 pm. - 11:00 pm.
May 2, 2015 - Saturday - 10:00 am. - 11:00 pm.

Historic Huntsville Depot, 320 Church Street, Huntsville, Alabama.
All proceeds benefit EarlyWorks Children's Museum and educational programs for area children.

WhistleStop Festival 2015 Entertainment

May 1, 2015 - Friday - Sister Hazel
    Sister Hazel, the band from Gainesville, Florida has been recording and performing for 20 plus years. The band blends elements of folk rock, pop, classic rock 'n' roll and southern rock.

May 2, 2015 - Saturday - Kansas
    Kansas, the band from Topeka, released their debut album in 1974. The band has produced 8 gold albums, 3 sextuple-Platinum albums (Leftoverture, Point of Know Return, Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show), and a million-selling gold single, ‘Dust in the Wind.’

ShadeTree Competition
    The ShadeTree division is for the weekend barbeque warriors.

KCBS Professional Competition
    The KCBS Competition is for the pros.

Kid's Q Competition
    Kids ages 8 - 14 will show off your grilling skills. A special competition just for you, the KIDS-Q will allow teams of 3 kids and 1 adult (18 or older) to vie for the top 3 awards in this category. Grill, charcoal, and 8 chicken thighs will be provided. Your culinary skills are all that is necessary.

People's Choice Awards
    Attention - Everyone at WhistleStop on Saturday between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. Many of the backyard cooking teams competing in the Shadetree Competition will have boston butt samples available for you to taste
    You can Vote for your favorite by placing coins or cash in the jar provided at their cook-site. The team with the most money will be announced as the People's Choice Award winner during the Awards Presentations at 8:15 pm on the main stage. Awards will be presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. All proceeds will benefit educational programming at the EarlyWorks Museums.

Participating teams will be flying a flag at their cook site.


WhistleStop Wing Thing
    On Friday you cook the chicken wings and the public will decide the winner. Turn in a minimum of 75 chicken wings prepared however you like at the Pig Whistle Pub by 5:45. Public judging will take place from 6:00 - 7:30 pm, and prizes will be awarded for 1st - 3rd Places.
